I was born in Valencia, CA, and have always had a passion for the arts.
Growing up in a creative family I was constantly looking for ways to express myself artistically. I fell in
love with the idea of free expression in High School and went on to study art at California
Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. I studied sociology and art, with my
main focus on illustration and design. It was during that time that I began to challenge myself to examine subject matter
and the basic idea of creativity and spontaneity while still implementing design fundamentals. After I graduated I
went on to work in the field of advertising. It wasn’t until 2004 that I began to explore painting. I had
focused on multimedia and design during college and at work, so I found it refreshing to stretch canvas and begin colorful
paintings.
Being a self-taught painter, I enjoy creating things that express an idea or emotion through simple shapes and
forms. I like to try different styles to obtain a new look for each painting, while
maintaining a flow of familiarity. When I'm not painting I'm working as a graphic designer in Simi Valley, CA. I love all facets of art and design,
and find the challenge of creating something that stimulates a certain response from viewers rewarding.
